Peer Evaluation Guide

Do NOT judge a peer based on absences - If  your teammate was absent and did NOT complete the task your team assigned to them satisfactorily, then their grade was lowered for that absence. Do not approve credit for work that does not match your expectations.
To help estimate your score for each teammate, you can print this page and use the column to the right as check boxes or enter the suggested scores and average them (rounding up).
Answer the following questions for each teammate to guide you:
• Has your teammate come to class prepared?
Never = 0; Needs Much Improvement = 7; Needs Some Improvement = 9; Does Almost Always = 10
Did they prepare suggested personal plans?
Did they express an understanding of the investigation?
Did they complete their share of the "at home" work your team planned?
• Has your teammate participated during lab?
Never = 0; Needs Much Improvement = 7; Needs Some Improvement = 9; Does Almost Always = 10
Did they complete their share of tasks willingly?
(collected data, analyzed data, authored manuscript, done inventory, cleaned)
Did they express opinions, suggested ideas, critiqued work?
Did they treat others respectfully?
Did they remain attentive to the team activities in lab?
• Has your teammate allowed others to participate?
Never = 0; Needs Much Improvement = 7; Needs Some Improvement = 9; Does Almost Always = 10
Did they encourage others to conduct experiments and write?
Did they listen to others comments and suggestions?
Did they accept others constructive criticism?
Were they patient while other spoke?
Did they allow/wait for others to speak?
Did they encourage others to speak?
Did they respond/react politely?
• Has your teammate done the work others did not? (Required to score over 10)
For these questions use the scores Never=0; In more than half the labs = 15; Almost Always = 18
Did they collect/analyze data that someone else failed to do?
Did they write/edit portions of the manuscript that someone else failed to do?
Did they perform other tasks someone else failed to do?
